 On September 25, 2014, at the Ternopil National Economic University, rector Andriy Krysovatyy met with representatives of the International Fund for Social Adaptation, which was created with the assistance of the American philanthropist George Soros. The President of the Fund, Vladimir S. Rubtsov, and Yana Kozachenko, Director of Development, visited TNEU. Also present were Vice-Rector on Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleh Adamiv, Director of the Chortkiv Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship Vitalii Buratynskyi, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Innovative Educational Technologies Oksana Desyatnyuk and Head of the Department of Accounting in the Public and Service Sector, Mykhailo Luchko.
 
The discussion revolved around the Ukraine-Norway project, which aims to reduce the negative social consequences of economic reforms and reforms of the Ukrainian defense sector for retired military personnel and members of their families and to promote cooperation between the two countries.
 
This project was started in 2003 and in the ten years of its existence has become one of the largest international projects on the territory of Ukraine. TNEU rector promised to help the servicemen released to the reserve in their professional and personal development.
A seminar with the participation of the International Fund for Social Adaptation was held at TNEU that autumn. Its main tasks were to increase the professional competitiveness of servicemen and their families on the labour market of Ukraine, motivate participants to actively adapt to a civil society with a market system of relations, improve the welfare of servicemen families, develop entrepreneurship among servicemen and develop cooperation between educational institutions of Ukraine and Norway.
